Update on my little Tidgy Girl.
Twelve months ago, Tidge was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and kidney disease and given 6 months to live, as both diseases can kill without warning.
Hyperthyroidism actually masks and can keep the kidney disease arrested, so we put her on medication to control it and it is a real balancing act, too little medication and the thyroid goes crazy and all her life support functions go into super speed mode. Too much medication and the kidneys start to fail.
Well, I don't want to be cocky, as every day we have her is a blessing, but here she is getting a new lease on life for her 18th birthday, yesterday, 24th November.
She has always been a feisty cat and she is obviously not giving up easily.
So check out the brilliance in her eyes, her total absorption in what she is watching........
Something she has never seen before......
If I stand up can I see better?
AHAH! So that's what has caught her eye!
I wonder, maybe I can reach this other lot....
But, wait a minute, are there better ones back there????
Happy 18th Birthday my dear sweet, feisty Tidgy Girl.
While ever you fight to live another day, I will be here to love and care for you and appreciate every second we share together.
Thank you Cuties for your ongoing little prayers for Tidgy and I swear, the photo's were taken in the sequence shown and Tidgy spent almost the whole day laying on a towel in front of the aquariums, gazing up in wonder or just sleeping, dreaming of the feast before her eyes. LOL!!!!
Hugs and love to you all, Meg
How does anyone live without furry friends?
Thank you for your wishes. hugs and roses, Meg
Happy Birthday to Tidgy ! Wish you a long time with your precious girl. Since I put my last cat to sleep I developed an allergy against cats and dogs :o(
Greetings, Bettina
Hard to imagine she is now under 7lb and I'm afraid you can see her spine far too clearly. She eats three times the amount of her two brothers but the over active Thyroid burns up everything she eats, so her dinner bowl is refilled every time she empties it. She is a very long cat and had always been lithe and active. I think that is why she is such fighter. Thanks for your wishes.
Sometimes she wakes up crying as if she is lost and it upsets me so to hear her, but a cuddle and reassurance from mum and she settles back down. I wish your sister well in her battle. Hugs and blessings, Meg
Hugs, Nadyne
ps Glad to see you are better
