Hi Cuties,
Just a query - I have lots of bobbins for my Husqvarna (the green one) and only one for my Brother Quattro, at the moment (white one). The green one of course has a letter H for Husqvarna, the white one has two little holes either side of the top and bottom.
I can't use the Brother one in my Husqvarna machine as it is slightly higher and I want to buy a few of them. Is there a code for them on line etc. For example, do they have a letter for their size, eg. a, b, c, etc. Thanks to any who can help.

I wonder if the height of the bobbin is the most important thing. The pre-wound have letters eg. class L for 13/16" x 5/16", [these fit my Pfaff] and the Style A Class 15, 13/16"wide x 7/16" high, fit my Janome. I measured my plastic bobbins and this is their measurements, same as the pre-wound.

If the top (sides?) are flat, it is a class 15....if they are slightly raised, and rounded it will be a class 66......But this one looks like a class 15 to me.

You want to be careful with buying bobbins for the Viking machine. The center hole is slightly larger at one end than the other. That is one reason they have the H on it. That side is always placed facing up. This is really important when winding the bobbin. Therefore, I would be sure to get bobbins made for the Viking machine.

I've only got Husqvarna ones Maria. You have misunderstood my question. I'm not looking for Husqvarna ones. I want to see where I can purchase some for the Brother other than buying them from my sewing machine shop. Thanks love Chris

It appears the bobbin for the Quattro are the SA-156 bobbins.
Check your machine manual or with your machine dealer to see if this is right.

If you just need bobbins for a Brother machine, Wal-Mart sells bobbins labeled Brother. They are in a package of 8 or 10.

Thanks Susan, we don't have Wal-Mart over here. I'm just trying to find some that are a bit cheaper than the ones in my sewing machine shop. They charge a lot for all accessories for any machine. Love Chris

This is the bobbin you need, according to Brother Australia. We use the XA codes here
"The included bobbin was designed specifically for this sewing machine. If bobbins from other models are used, the machine will not operate correctly. Use only the included bobbin or bobbins of the same type (part code: SA156, (SFB: XA5539-151))."

I bought a packet (the smaller 9.2mm ones but the 10 packs are the same price at my dealer) for $12 last week.

I went to my local sewing center with a bobbin and what machine model number ect. and was able to buy 12 more for my brother. Also your manual should have a parts number for the bobbins, mine did.

I hope you have it sorted out now, Chris. I went looking for more bobbins for my Janome and Juki machines the other week on Ebay -they both use the same size, luckily. I bought 75 of them from Qld (a Janome shop had advertised them), for $15 all up, including postage :) One can strike it lucky, sometimes!

I buy Brother bobbins from my Brother dealer for $1 each or a pack of 10 for $10 at Spotlight. I understand they come in 9.2 or 11.5mm. The 11.5 are for the Innovis range. Hope this helps. Lyn. xx

I too am amazed that you only got one bobbin with your Brother. I would be having words with the dealer. Most machines give you more than one. I have a Brother Innovis 1200 and the bobins for that are the same as my Janome ones. May pay to check this out. Hugs Shirley

Found a packet of 9 inside one of the many boxes that came with the machine, but I have ordered some more from Zig Zag sewing. I was hoping to get some from another source so will look into Australian places. Thanks for all you help everyone, love and blessings Chris
