My embroidery machine has broken :(
Was working on it yesterday and suddenly the needle broke. Put in a new needle and the same thing happened again. I phoned up my Bernina Store and have been told to bring it on Monday and it will be ready on Wednesday. Just hope that I have not damaged the machine. The shop is about 60 kms away but I will do some shopping while I am there. Just so upset, which is ridiculous.

Oh Sarah sorry to hear this. Bad timing to happen during the busiest time of the year :o( Hope they can fix it very quick and not too expensive.

Thank you Bettina. Thank goodness it was on Saturday and I was able to book it in. I am just hoping that it will not need new parts and be too expensive.

I had the same problem with my Bernina. Luckily it was only the embroidery foot that was broken (still cost me £30) It took me a week to get the spare part! So I have lots to do to catch up!

I am also worried that I might need a spare part and that it will take a long time to order, not to mention the cost.

Put my name on the list for service to my machine in the last of Oct. In Nov. started having nesting threads under the material. Took it in last Thursday and left it with them as it is over 100 miles to the shop. Don't know when I'll get it back. Wonderful service from my service person and I love going there. I know he will get it back to me as soon as he can. I will just have to work harder to get things done by Christmas. Like you when I go there, I shop while I am there.

I'm sorry your machine is acting up but where I live (60 kms is about 37 miles) that's considered CLOSE. I can't believe how lucky you are to receive service within two days; I always expect a minimum of two weeks down time! I bet you already did the usual checks: machine threaded properly--top and bobbin, clean bobbin area, appropriate stabilizer, clear thread path, etc.

Thank you - I have cleaned everything but I can now see what is happening. The needle is hitting the bobbin casing. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

It sure is bad timing to have the machine go on the fritz around the holidays........I am so happy to hear it will be down for just a few days & a bonus you get to do some shopping...Your Bernina dealer, like mine, is a ways from home, which does make it inconvenient...hang in there my friend!! Hugs........Vicki

Thanks Vicki - just hoping that it is nothing too serious. Hugs my friend.. Sarah.

How frustrating. I have never gotten the machine back earlier than 2 weeks. Often it took longer than that. I am lucky that I have the dealer in the same town. I hope you can get back to you Christmas projects real soon.

Thank you Angie. I took it in this morning. I feel lost without it :(

Hoping for a quick inexpensive repair for your machine. You can prepare stuff so when you get it back you will be ready.

Thanks Anita - I have already chosen the designs that I would like to use. That for me is the worst part of embroidery. Too much choice. LOL.

Helo Lois,
this post is 6 days old and Sarah is so lucky in the meantime cause her hubby has decided that she needs a new machine with a bigger hoop ;o) Click on her name (blue beside the avatar) and there you will find all her posts. When you click on the tab COMMUNITY you will find the posts about the story (the shop that they cannot repair the machine).
