Christmas is around the corner and I can't seem to get into the spirit of it this year. This is the first year since 1998 that I will not be putting up my christmas village.
Will be going in for surgery next Tuesday (has me a bit stressed) and am just doing the basics for this year. Haven't started anything yet. Some of you may remember last years village pics, these are a couple from 2 years ago.I placed them on my computer scene (opening page this morning) to see if that will put me in the mood. Not working so far. I am such a pain in the butt, it is like if I can't do it all, I don't want to do anything, never a happy medium with me.
So tell me, what makes your christmas special, do you also have a passion for something "NOEL". Help I need to get in the spirit.

I also donate to the local drive and this year made quite a few scarf and hat sets. Christmas is usually my "all out time" but I guess I have to look forward to bigger and better next year,
Happy holidays to you and your family

I have no choice but to settle down, have been working on putting up the tree and it is going real slow. Next year will be better.
Thanks for your prayers, Tuesday is the day

I have decided just to put up my tree and decorate my fireplace mantel, that will have to do for this year. I will get through this and be in top shape for next year,
thanks and hugs

Life overwhelms us all at times, and it is difficult then to rise above our anxieties of life, but that only makes us human! I, too, have been through a lot this year, and am not as interested in Christmas festivities, as I normally would be. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, thus, I miss the excited feeling I can't seem to muster this year! But, the Lord knows our hearts, and loves us anyway!
I wish you a most successful surgery, and that you will feel on top of things soon!
Hugs, Angel

Don't worry about your beautiful Village this year. Just relax so your blood pressure remains calm for upcoming surgery. May the New Year bring you a fast recovery.
Hugs,
Linda aka Bumblebee
Relaxing is hard for me but I am trying. Once the surgery is over I will have other things on my mind than the village.
Looking forward to a healthier new year,

I have decided to go small this year and no village, I figure DH will have to put all this away afterwards and that could be dangerous. So enough already I will stop complaining and concentrate on my health.

I think most of us are, "all or nothing", I know I am and since we will be spending Christmas day and Boxing day away from home, I have no reason to decorate our house, so I too am sadly lacking in Christmas spirit right now.
Whatever your surgery is for, I wish you great success and pain free, speedy healing.
Hugs and blessings, Meg
This surgery will definetly not be pain free but I am a tough
bird so I will get through it. No village just a tree and a few
small decorations and with my new tree skirt it will be fine.
I figure after Tuesday, I'll be to drugged up to notice anyway LOL

Thank you for letting me express my feelings. I love to watch all the wonderful Christmas movies and have a box of kleenex beside me. Too bad its not like it was when we all were little ones.
I always give to the homeless, to the children and support my local food drive so that part still feels like the true meaning of christmas.
Have a very Merry Christmas Jerry

Can't wait to hear that all went well with your surgery. You are in our thoughts, prayer and hearts. Take care of yourself after the surgery, we want to see more of your beautiful work.
Hugs Jerri
Remember GOD is the Reason for the Season. God has seen what you have done in the past, and he knows what is in your heart - so give it all over to Him and let Him spread the joy this year. May He also guide your surgeons hands so you can be back to your old self next year. Keep us posted on how you are doing. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
