Why is it that I can make shirt after shirt (same pattern) but when I am pushed for time something goes wrong. I sat for ages yesterday just trying to get a collar on. I am ready to pull my hair out. LOL.

Murphy's Law? "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". Multiply that by about 5 when you're in a hurry.

Your mind was probably on other things that you were hoping to have moved on to. Collars can be challenging at any time, anyway. I'm sure it was better after you had a rest from it :)

I have given up on doing ANYTHING when I'm in a hurry - it never works. Like it takes me 2-3 times longer than normal if I think I have a timeline set. My daughter leaves Friday to spend two weeks with her dad. I've known for 2 weeks and keep putting off making her Christmas dress... I KNOW its gonna be a bugger and I just don't wanna ruin blue velvet! But the longer I wait - the worse it gets.
A collar tho? I think I'd pull my hair out even with plenty of time. Circles befuddle me and gathering stitches hate me. I'm a square girl all the way! Daughters dress - yup - 3 rectangles and some elastic! :) I don't think I've EVER sewn a collar in my life!

Good luck with your daughters dress. Velvet is never easy to sew.

i agree my machine has been running great then I have 2 shirts to do and all I can get is bobbin thread showing breaking threads like what is wrong here. so I put the shirts aside and did some fun things and she ran fine again. just doesn't want to do things for me when I really need it LOL

Well it seams from your comments that I am not alone. The collar is now on but I am not too happy with it and I will put the sleeves in today. Thank you all for your time in posting. ** 4 all. Hugs Sarah.

Like you, this happens to me more than I want it to. I embroider the county police officers shirts, and there always seems to be one more.
I gave up pulling my hair out, so now I have to walk away from the problem for at least 30 minutes. This has helped me immensely.

Hugs to you Sarah,
Bonnie
