By Nappies do you mean diaper cover? They look like diaper cover to me. They are just adorable!

Yes you could use as a cover but they are MCN ( modern cloth nappy's) they have an opening/pocket at the back where you add the soaker inserts.

I used minky outer that I added the design too PUL fabric in the middle this fabric is waterproof and micro suede fabric as the stay dry lining.
