Only time i embroidered on satin wa to test my machine i used iron on stabilizer and then heavy tearaway underneath and that worked. But somene with more experience may come along and have a better idea for you. Embroidery Library has a link on theleft side of their site that gives you all the stabilizers to use very usefull site i have found.

I just did my first embroidery on satin and I used medium weight stabiliser, but I'm not saying this is correct.
