I am in China, without my sewing embroidery machine and other toys. I have never been so long with out a sewing machine. I am lonely, but I'm adapting. I'm using time for art. Here is a zentangle doodle of the name China.

It's lovely! You are very creative. Did you move to China, or are you just there for a visit? I have never been to any of the Asian countries, but would sure love to go there someday. Have a wonderful time there, and please post some photos if you take some - it's nice to live vicariously through others from time to time!

My hubby and I are here teaching English for a school year. We are on semester break right now, for nearly two months, and will get to do some traveling.

If you want do something else why don't you try knitting or crocheting?
You always can take it with you - it shortens waiting times and you can do small or bigger things and sew them together at the end. My daughters and I enjoy very much - maybe a new hobby for you too??
And there are tutorials in the internet. Our Southafrican guest daughter learned within a few days and knits a scarf.

I also crochet and knit. I'm working on hand warmers, and crochet them when I am on the University bus traveling to school and back. I have many hobbies. I'm working on digitizing designs while I'm here, and will have a stack to stitch out once I get home.

We love it, though it has its challenges. The people are so good to us. And, we love them. Right now it is very cold.

This is a wonderful design and would be a great one to digitize for the embreoidery machine. You should save all the results of your new found talents for when you get back. Meanwhile enjoy your time there and learn all you can.
