A photo which Ekatherina (katullie) digitized for me. I am amazed at the effect which light has on the embroidery. With a bit of light from the back it almost come to life. I've put it in a embroidery frame and plan to hang it in my window. Kind of a "dream catcher" idea.

With the camera's flash, it is difficult to capture the light effect but I have tried to show you. :)

Thanks. I should have used a darker color thread for the face. But in the end it was just as I wanted it.

Thank you. Yes, the photo is of my dad who passed away a year and a half ago. She did this for me more than a year ago and I've stitched it out then but never finished it off. It is still difficult and you are right for me he comes more alive.

Thank you - I miss him a lot and this was how he always smiled. Funny time does not take the hurt away but it becomes more bearable.

I've done some of these... cute idea, also, is on a lamp shade... or between two layers of glass hung in a window.

Yes at frst I was looking for the double glass frames but could not find anything I really liked and when clearing out some of my drawers I thought of using the hoop.

I stitched it out on a Elna machine. The digitizing (programming) was done by a very talented Cutie (Katullie). I do not know what software she used. About a year ago she said she was looking for some challenges and said we can ask her. I then emailed het a jpeg photo (not even a good quality as I scanned it in form a actual photo) and then she send me a JEF file with instructions.. She has even put a frame around it which I have ommitted in this particular stitchout. The embroidery looks just like the photo - it was amazing to see the picture unfold.
