A big shout out of thanks to all the Xstitchers who gave me advice. I bought linen & used 2 layers of stabilizer underneath & nothing was needed on top. How do you like the finished product? I have to say I was concerned about the color choices called for ie: green blue? but I guess they show deifinition on the face, still not sure about the blue but I like the end result & I think x stitching is amazing to watch stitch out. My sisters border collie passed away recently sew I think that I will add her dates coming into & leaving this world before I frame it for her.

It's lovely and you might want to take a pack of tissues when you give this to her.

Lovely. I lost my border collie 3 years ago, she was a tri- colour, and I still miss her a lot.

May I just say that there are some fabulous dog designs in cross stitch at www.embromix.com,and very reasonably priced. I have the one of a border collie that looks just like my Kim, waiting to be stitched out.

This is very nice and quite realistic, I'm sure your sister will treasure it. If you don't like the blue you can take a Sharpie brand fine or extra fine Permanent marker and touch up over it and t will tone it done or completely cover it up. I keep a set of 24 different colors right in my machine drawer and they have samed many a project!

Love it. I feel X stitch is best viewed from a distance. It shows up the hair etc.
