Its 46 C outside & the power has gone off.
Had to go to the hospital at noon & the temp crawled up to 43C & 1hr later I picked DH up & it was going from 45 -46C & the hospital had lost power.Met 2 fire engines going into the hospital as we came out of the drive way .The generators had started up providing some power but DH said it was cooler in the Dark.It got up to 47C on the way home,went out to get the washing in it was 46C & it felt like it had been in the oven,A quilt that I hung out 3hrs before was dry & you would have never known it had been washed ,no wrinkles.

I wish you could have some of this heat.The laptop battery is running out ,think I will go & have a cold show (water will be warm)

I know how you feel "Killie" - it's 43C outside my home at the moment (4.30pm). I've never experienced heat like this since we've lived here in Newcastle (28 years this September). Even the birds are panting around the birdbaths. You are right about being outside as it was like being in an oven - our washing was dried within an hour! Hope we can get some respite soon. I went into Zig Zag sewing machine shop today and got my 4D upgraded to 5D - WOW all those extra options now. This was my Christmas present from all the family and in their shop it was 22C and I was there for 2 hours - it was bliss!

44 deg on my patio (112 deg C).Low humidity, I don't mind the heat but I hate the humidity. Tomorrow is supposed to be a cool 23 deg.So many bush fires.

It's 6:40 PM here and the the sun is sinking slowly in the west, but it is still 43* (109*F) outside on our top veranda. Thankfully the air-con is keeping it down to a cool? 28* (83*F) in the kitchen/family room. I say thankfully because it's time to prepare dinner and I'd be too hot in the kitchen if the air-con wasn't blowing in there. :-)))
Don't know how we're all going to sleep tonight.
Please say a prayer for our brave fire fighters, they are doing it mighty tough trying to save homes in the path of the bushfires.

WOW! Just as I finished writing, down came the rain! HUGE pelting drops of really heavy rain and the wind has whipped up out of nowhere!

You were lucky only a few drops of rain here, the rest was out to sea .All we got was thunder & lightning-all noise no action.Dinner was what in the fridge ,nice & cold.

It got to 45c (113f) here yesterday , then about 7 ish we got an almighty southerly , all the tents in the van park where flattened ,our daughter tent was one of them , they are all trying to re-erect them today ,one thing I did notice how it brought everyone together . Right now they are all working on one tent and then will move on to the next one .

Yesterday turned out to be the hottest day on record,even for those who live near the sea,which usually have the benefit of the noreasterly sea breezes

Your quilt would have freezed dried at our house. The big wet snow came down 2-3 inches (5.08-7.62 cm) an hour for several hours yesterday (Thursday). There are 200 linesmen trying to restore electricity to those without power. We are so grateful to have made it through this severe winter storm. My husband had a hard time getting to work this morning. One of the mountain roads steep grades was closed long enough so that the big trucks could back down as they couldn't ascend. Be nice if we could even out the temperature everywhere.

The top 2 photos make the snow look beautiful but I sure wouldn't want to be in the bottom photos.I hate the cold & wind.Temperatures of 13C- 14C during the day in winter is considered very cold here.
The top left is a road and the weight of the snow brought the tree limb hanging. We are usually very lucky as many carry chain saws and will cut them off. If you waited for the county maintenance crew it could take a while. lol Driving can be a little tricky as some will melt during the day and refreeze at night what they call black ice.
