When i wasn't feeling that well last Sat. i feel asleep sitting on the couch .John decided to take Peeko for a walk to the corner,to save me going out .Anyways u newer girls don't know but John has only 1% vision ,when he got to the corner he said Peeko kept pulling and he thought he was coming home anyways he got lost and had no clue were he was (very scare y for a blind person The Neighbor Ashley saw him and came out and asked if he was OK .He said no i am trying to go home. She then walked him home .Thank-God she saw him .

So i am making her a wee gift .This is the towel to go with her gift Thanks Carolyn

Sounds to me that John still needs his Independance. don't discourage him, give him a phone with your number programed into it so he only has to press e.g. number 3 or what he feels best for him. Also take John & Peeko & teach both only to walk so far then John to commarned Peeko to 'go home' then reward Peeko for getting you all Home.. also have something along your fence or home that John can feel to know that he is home & maybe some others on the usual walk around. Thankgoodness for friendly neighbors. Also I believe that some mobile phones have a GPS built in them so you can go online to see where the phone is. Not sure on the time delay for this.

Thank God that He was watching over John. You are so blessed to live in a beautiful community too. Love the wee gift for Ashley, she will love it. I hope your "cold" snap finishes soon. We on the other side of the world are having the hottest summer on record! Love and blessings Chris

Amazing neighbor to help keep an eye out for John. Now when you walk Mr. Peeko you need to train him to get you home. Hope your feeling somewhat better.

Your husband sounds so thoughtful and with a guy like that and a girl like you it is easy for angels to step in and help. Ashley is a wonderful angel who listens to the promptings of the Lord. Bless all of you.

Wow, I'm glad Ashley was looking out the window at the right time and saw John and Peeko. With it being that cold there it makes it even more scary. Do you know where Peeko wanted to go? Glad everyone is home - safe and sound, and warm.

I am sure Ashley will love the gift.

I am so glad she was there to help him find his way back home. It is a beautiful gift you made for Ashley.
I don't miss the extreme cold of CA but I do miss the people always watching out for others so they don't freeze.
On a side note -- it is comforting and wonderful to know that you actually sleep. I have worried that with all the stitchin' you do -- you must never sleep.
Hugs! Flowers for all.

As is often the case, one really doesn't know how much the people around us care about and for us until they are needed...and presto! There they are there to help. Along with carrying a cell phone, perhaps he could carry a device that gives vocal directions too. We have a "Garmin" (mfg name) device that we take in our car in case we get lost. You can put you home address in it and set it to "voice." I think they are generally referred to as GPS devices. If you make a wrong turn, it simply adjusts and puts you on the right track again. It can be set before he leaves the house, and when he wants to head home, he can push home and it'll tell him. Depending on the device, you may need to modify the device so he can locate where to push easily. There might even be devices out there like this specifically made for vision impaired people. My Garmin has gotten me home when lost!
