Warning to Australian Cuties. Just to let all sellers and buyers who use Gumtree know:: Today I was aproached by a Jessica Bianka about the sale of my Challenger vehicle. She is a SCAMMER. Her and her accomplice names and contact details plus all emails and correspondence are being forwarded to the Australian Police, Paypal and my Bank

I was not dilligent. Too happy that someone wanted to buy my car and was reckless in security. Thank goodness the staff at the credit Union were able to freeze all accounts so the scammers did not get access to our account.
I thought Gumtree was safe....

I'm not from Oz, but I'm still so sorry for your problem. Thank heaven you caught it in time. I guess no matter how safe a website is, or how safe the owners try to make it, there are always crooks who can get around it. Glad your CU was vigilant, anyway, I deal with a CU here in the states, and I think they are way better than banks. Hope the police catch these bandits and prosecute them. Hugs, Marji

Gumtree is here in South Africa also - just as bad !! The owner of a racing bike that was stolen found it a few days (?one) later for sale on this site. His friend made enquiries and found it was the same bike. I presume that this was handed over the police.
