Update! Surgery went well, no problems at all. Only had local anesthesia and was no problem. I was a bit (VERY) uncomfortable about the thought of eye surgery and being awake. Surgery took around 20 minutes. Tomorrow when the patch comes off and everything is fine, I'll be able to go home and SEE!

That is excellent news. Do they have any idea how much vision was restored for you? So happy the surgery went well for you.

Christie have you had laser surgery? If so, that is what Dana had a couple of years ago so she never has to wear glasses again. Being a teacher she was finding it difficult to see the blackboard. Hers went really well, had both eyes done on the same day in the Eye hospital here in Newcastle. Love Chris

Oh Christie, I'm so glad it went well for you. I know what you mean about surgery on your eyes, and being awake. It's something I would rather NOT be awake for! God Bless you! Jan

of it and then I found the worst thing was being afraid :-))

Thanks for the update, Christie! Even after they take the patch off, your vison will probably continue to improve for several days, as the eye completely heals. Hope you will see great as soon as the patch is removed, though!!
Any surgery is scary to me, and I'm always SO glad when it is past!! Hugs to YOU!

Congratulations - you must be so relieved it's over!! Pat on the back for you. Was it as uncomfortable as you anticipated?? Hope all goes to plan when you take the patch off!
