2013 Challenge I used some of my Christmas money gift to purchase a Cute membership. That is money very well spent!! I saw the cute little duck that 10tje offered us and knew I had to sew him. I used the letter B from the kids alpha here on Cute and some of my leftover fleece. This is the end product. It makes me smile whenever I see him. I hope he makes my grandson and his Mom smile, too.

Thank you. I went into our own "designs by cuties" and found this design.http://www.cuteembroidery.com/2232064_bug-eyes.html I removed the frames and enlarged the eyes and embroidered them onto white felt. I then sewed them onto the duck.

Love this and can see it in the years to come as it is so loved and goes where ever Bobby goes. I also love the fact that the eyes are sewn on so they do not come off, great addition.

Thank you. I had to make the eyes because I didn't have any of those safety lock eyes, but I do like the fact that they are sewn on, too.
by mehhouse 31 Jan 2013
I was going to look thru my stash of designs for some eye to embroider directly onto the ducks face. I didn't want to used the hard plastic ones used in the original design. Love 10K's projects though.

Wonderful! If you make it with a zipper or Velcro opening it could be used for an ice pack.

Thank you. That's a great idea about adding a zipper or velcro for an ice pack.
by mehhouse 31 Jan 2013
Great Idea Sewmom! I hadn't thought of that. I guess you could also make a small rice bag that could be heated in the microwave and inserted inside also.

Wonderful work. I have that pattern ready and waiting on my sewing table - just need to find some spare time (or squeeze some extra time in somewhere) I really wanted to have sewn eyes too so this is brilliant with the link to the eyes by cutie - drh2276.
