An update on those cows.... OH, and the tenants, for those who were asking.

The underneath of my brother's house is all closed in, but it is just a huge garage with an internal staircase to the living quarters.
As the flood waters started rising, he told his tenants to open the roller doors so the cattle could get inside the garage, which they did.
What no-one expected was the height the flood water rose to, or the speed at which it rose.
Before anyone knew what was happening all the cows inside the garage started climbing the internal staircase,
the higher the water rose, the higher up they all climbed......
Now remember cows won't even walk across cattle grids to go through an open gate, yet here they were, climbing up a staircase with a 180* turn at the halfway landing.
The tenants took this photo as they were being rescued by boat, but what it doesn't show .......

the other 20 or so cows who climbed the internal stairs and are safe and dry INSIDE the house.

Now cleaning up after floodwater is one thing, but cleaning up after all those cows????????
OH YUCK!!!
Better you than me brother but God bless you for caring, I would have expected no less from my brother.
The tenants are also safe and my Bro said the water has already receded.
