"A NEW CHALLENGE FOR 2013"

As it was raining most of the day I decided to make a challenge for the month. It is a pin/needle holder.

The outer shape has wool batting in it so that the pins and needles will go through smoothly. The little inner shape has a lovely Hedgehog on it from Dianned from this site. I was wanting an Anteater as they have lots of spikes and needles and pins are spiky, right? So then I thought the Hedgehog would be just as suitable.

Love and blessings from Chris (in a very wet and soggy Newcastle, Australia)

The second picture is the finished quilt for Emma which she received yesterday and absolutely loved it. Her 21st birthday party is tonight. It was made unseen by her, so I took a great risk in choosing the fabrics.

1. Back view of needle/pin case.
2. Inside view of needle/pin case.
3. Folded needle case.
4. Emma's finished quilt.
5. Quilt label.

Me too Karen, she rang me to thank me for it. I was very touched. As I write this she would be in full swing at her 21st birthday party in Canberra. Love Chris

Thanks Carolyn - I'm glad it is finished. The challenge for the month was only because I love to have needle and pins to take to my sewing class and these are made there by some of the ladies. (I actually at home use my magnetic pin holders) Love Chris

Great little projects for the challenge. The hedgehog was a streak of brilliance for the pin cushion. You made a beautiful quilt for Emma and I'm sure she will treasure it more and more as time goes on.

That's what I liked about it Anita. I could do lots of little surprises in there. The ones the ladies at my sewing group do are plain! I like to do a little ME on them. Thanks for the comments on the quilt too. Love Chris

Your needle case is so sweet with the little hedgehog. What a great choice of design and as always your fabric is gorgeous!

Your quilt turned out fabulously and again such lovely fabrics you chose!
I sure would love to sneak in and grab some of your fabric stash! LOL
