Mariëtta, my dear friend and a member of the Cape Town Cuties, underwent surgery on Wednesday and has been in ICU until this afternoon(Saturday 2nd Febr). Could not visit her yet but her husband said she is much better after she had a little of a drawback.

Update: I just spoke to Mariëtta on the phone and she will spend another night in ICU! She sounds fine and her spirits are high!

UP DATE - I went to visit Mariëtta this afternoon. She has been moved to the general ward. She is in great spirits but it seems she will have to stay in hospital for another 6 - 8 days. I told her about your best wishes and she will do a posting as soon as she gets back home. She sends all her love.

UP DATE - Marietta went for x-rays earlier in the morning because she was very short of breath and the result was water in the lungs. She is on the necessary medication for that. When I visited her this afternoon she told me she has to take in extra oxygen 4x a day. She hopes to go home on Friday. She sends her love to all the Cuties.

Ek hoop sy is sommer gou weer perdfris en gesond. Ek hoop sy sal goed na haarself omsien en die Dr. se aanbevelings gehoorsaam. Dit is altyd so belangrik met herstel na 'n groot operasie. Liefde en groete plus seenwense.XOXOXO.

Just to inform you all that Mariëtta will be discharge from hospital tomorrow. She spend the last couple of days in an intercare facility and the doctors and physiotherapist decided today that she can go home. She is very exciting as she has spend nearly a month in hospital.
