I love this but how do you figure out on each quarter what size to cut the rest of the square in order to piece it all together.

It is paperpiecing
yes I know it is paper pieced but still has to be attached to the background fabric somehow.
It's not a "total" pattern for a square. It's a design element that you can appllque down.

She is such an awesome person. Met her a couple of times. She has a store in Paducah, Ky and has taught many workshops. Her free form flying geese were the first geese I learned to do. I just love her quilts. Her designs, colors, and especially her quilting. When you go to her shop you can sit down and quilt with her input. She really is a great lady.
