I love the embroidered "bumad" - the regional dress of Norway, often worn at weddings or on May 17th, the national feastday. Embroidery is wool on wool, often still made by hand at home.
I digitised my take on a design (this is part of it) in Madeira rayon - this size was a bit too small to use a woolen thread like Burmilana.
Nice touch: it's embroidered on black wool, a remnant of one of my grandmothers' skirts - they both wore the regional dress of Scheveningen.
I think I'll take this as a gift for my daughter who lives in Norway - I'll be flying there next Thursday.

You have placed much of your heart into this project. A grandmother's skirt. How wonderful The fact that it will go to your daughter in Norway is doubly wonderful. What a treasure to be passed on. It is beautiful on many levels.
