I finished the backpack for my son to take to Germany. He leaves tomorrow morning. I love making these backpacks, they last forever and are very roomy. The design is from EmbroideryDesigns.com.

The backpack is 17 X 19 finished with a 2 inch overlap at the top and a full length zipper pocket. The cords are each 80 inches.

Thank you. They are touring in and around Berlin and Munich for 7 days and also a Host home stay for 7 days in Vreden.

He is excited, his Dad is nervous, I am thinking the house will be very very quiet! What will I do without 3 or 4 teenagers coming in and out? Perhaps get some sewing done?

I took apart an old one and took the measurements from it. No pattern and I think I make them differently each time. I like to call it improvement but it is often just covering for a measurement mistake, I mean challenge. :)
