Question! I did a poem in embroidery on a hankerchief for a friend. I did two layers of wss for stabilizer. I rinsed the hankies 3 times under running water and soaked it one time in downy water. She thought they we still stiff. What else should a person do? thanks for the help.

I have had this problem sometimes. I soak, change the water. Soak, change the water - about 4 times. I then leave the item to soak overnight. This seems to soften my item. I hope this helps. I also find that warm water (not too hot) is better.
