Hi Cuties, I would like your opinions please.
My niece got married a couple of weeks ago and her new husband is a helicopter pilot.
Ray and I gave them a cash amount as their main wedding gift, but I had purchased a complete set of gorgeous deep purple bathroom towels to give them, I chose that colour as my niece laughingly said all her towels were pink and poor Andrew just had to put up with it. LOL!!!
Now here is my dilemma, I have agonised over what to embroider on them... In the last two weeks I have digitised countless monogram sets, combined several purchased designs into sets, searched all my purchased monograms, I've tried everything but nothing I have come up with makes me truly happy.
I mean, what man wants to dry himself on towels with a swan and lilies or flowery monograms?
Anywho, I was lying in bed thinking, as we do, and it hit me like a lightning bolt.....
What if I was to put their monogram on the side of a helicopter?
So (below) is what I came up with and I was thinking perhaps I could embroider the chopper in the same colour as the towels and that would mean only the monogram would be noticeable at first glance.
Or I could choose a different colour, maybe silver for the chopper and match the monogram colour to the towel.
What do you all think?
Is the design acceptable for embroidering on a wedding gift or should I keep looking?
What about the colours?
My niece is very special to me so I want to give her something special. Your comments would be most appreciated. TIA, hugs and roses, Meg
So glad your back with us. I missed you.
Hugs Jerri
However I do love your helicopter and If it was me I would do the helicopter in siver and letters matching the towel.
What a special present it will be and loved by all I expect. Good luck!
My niece Natalie is really proud of Andrew and she is so much in love with him, I think she will be thrilled with the helicopter, especially since, (and I wasn't going to divulge this) she is a Betty Boop fan so I have been digitising her face to put on the front of the helicopter, (if I can get it small enough without losing the definition).
I thought I could then put a helicopter & "A" on one hand towel and Betty & "N" on the other hand towel, then just their initial on each face washer.
I'll take all the answers on board and do some test stitch outs before I do the towel set. I'll put the finished set in projects when it's all finished. hugs and roses to all, Meg
Thank you all so very much. hugs n roses, Meg
