I keep seeing "sakura" designs. I get that they're Oriental, but what makes them sakura -- or not?

“Sakura” means cherry blossom in Japanese. The cherry blossoms are beautiful and "Sakura" also means spiritual beauty. In the U.S. they are well known in and around the capital (Washington, D.C.) and other large cities. They are stunning in bloom in the Spring.
