last year i had Vicki digitize a lilock tree for me and i made it into coaster for Joan my second Mom from childhood.Well she died last week from cancer and that leaves just me to smell the flowers this year as my mind wonders back to those Good Ole Days!!!Anyways this reminds me of her . Vicki made this design!! Oh, Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. This design is a beautiful memory of Joan and of course in your favourite colours too. I would frame this one as a picture and put it in you sewing room as a keepsake.

It is hard to miss a parent (birth or not).
I love lilacs! This is the first home I have lived without lilacs. I plant lilacs everywhere I live, because they were my dads favorite! The smell takes me back -- also.

I have 3 in my back yard white,purple and one called a french lilac i sit there for hours in the sun of course thinking***remembering****hugs and thanks:):)

How beautiful and such a special blessing indeed. Sorry about your loss. I have 3 of the old fashioned ones I sit on porch swing and enjoy as they let out their fragrance and I too have those good ole memories. I think of the lilac as the Mother's day bouquet as many years I have clipped many for several Moms for mother's day. Heartfelt hugs HM.

My father-in-law was from Pennsylvania and he nursed a lilac for years in Atlanta (not cold enough there for them). He died and my husband died about 5 months later and the blankety-blank lilac made it one more spring - a last hurrah and then CROAKED (totally unexpectedly). I did get to smell it that one year and it was heavenly!!
