Great article from Designs by Sick called "the saga of the sticky needle". Unfortunately I cannot buy the product here in S. Africa but I am sure I can use something else to clean the needles.

there is a citrus based product here for removing stickers which would likely work, or plain old methylated spirits on a cloth

I keep a bottle of rubbing alcohol in my sewing room for cleaning the sticky from my needles. It dries quickly. too!
