UPDATE ON JOSHUA

I am feeling a bit numb - Joshua has just been to see the orthopedic surgeon. The infection has not cleared. He has been put on another course of antibiotics. The surgeon is giving it another three months for the bone to start knitting together. If there is no change then Josh will have his leg amputated. It has been in the back of our minds all along but now suddenly it could be a reality. It has been advised that Josh sees a councillor.
My dear grandson has been through so much. Hugs Sarah.

Being through so many surgeries in such a short time has weakened his immune system and the extra time the doctors are giving him I pray for a miracle that his body will begin to recover and heal.

I was really hoping the last surgery would be his last. Please give him my best wishes and remind him to concentrate on what is in his best interests. He is a young man and has many avenues to realize his full potential.

I am so sorry to hear this, it is devistating news, but keep the faith, doctors often give the worst case scenariors so the patient and family is prepared. So hold tight to faith and prayers.

I have a nephew who lost his leg in a terrible car wreck and has a prosthetic. He lives a very normal life, jumps on the tramp, rides a motorcycle, the whole bit. We forget he has lost his leg.

God bless this poor child. I can't imagine how this is affecting your entire family. Please help him to be strong and look to God for perfect healing. Maybe you would also get a second opinion. There are some super drugs out there and other things to try, also. My prayers for all of you.

Dear Sarah, I am so sorry to read this. I have only come on this afternoon and saw your post. I thought it was the post previously and couldn't believe it when I read that he has had another relapse. I do pray that his bones will heal and we all know how much you love and care for him and the family. God listens to our prayer requests and I know he has been bombarded from us Cuties with Joshua. May God continue to heal and care for all who are affected by Josh's condition. Love and blessings Chris

Oh Sarah so sorry to read this. I hoped so much that the healing has started with the last treatment. Is there any way to push his self-healing process? Accupuncture? Special food? Physical therapy? Swimming?
Wish him all the best and also the hole family
Greetings, Bettina

Have just spoken to Joshua on the phone. We did not dwell on the subject and he is very positive. He said he is so looking forward to seeing me when I go to Johannesburg next week for his mum's 40th. birthday. He and I have such a bond as he is my first grandchild.

That is a great attitude for him. Tell him we are all praying and pulling for him! I understand about the first. My grandmother always said that I made her grand and then great!

Oh Please make sure he has the best possible doctors and maybe get a second opinion before if it needs to be amputated. You and he are in my thoughts...
