Ok, not an embroidery project but I made this dress for my granddaughter. I have only been sewing for as long as she is old (18 months) so I was kind of excited that it turned out as well as it did and that it fit. Also, I actually had to do button holes so it really tested my lack of skills. Thank goodness my hubby bought me such a nice sewing/embroidery machine (Brother Inv 2800D). It really takes the guess work out of things!

precious! i don't even remember the last time I did a button hole. The newew machines are a state of the art with button holes. I remember Bernina came out 25 yrs or more ago with programing the button hole and it would stitch it over and over. Now the programs are numerous. You just put the button on the screen and magic. It makes a button hole for that size. I do remember you should have a facing and some interfacing for the best results. Have fun with your new found skills!!! Kay

Congrats to you on learning to sew and using these God given skills on your precious Grandaughter!! Keep up the good work. I can see LOTS more cute garments in her future.Be sure to take a picture of each garment on her and date it on the back. That will be fun for her in years to come to remember.
