Bookmarks

The one on the left I made some 40 years ago. It was an Eva Rosenstrand design.

The one on the right I made today, by machine. What gives the game away is the machine stitch I used to secure the fringe. The design stitched in 13 minutes, much faster than the handmade one.

Wat mooi om het nu zo te maken. Die van 40 jaar geleden ziet er ook nog prachtig uit. Daar ben je zuinig op geweest Martine.

De linker lag al die tijd in mijn cadeaula, maar ik kon het niet over mijn hart verkrijgen hem weg te geven :)

wow! looks perfect. Is that a ribbon you stitched that out on? It looks like it is made from yarn.

No it is dress-weight linnen. I had a 4" strip left, stitch the design in the centre and then seamed and turned, pressed, stitched the two lines to secure the material before ripping away threads to get a nice fringe.
