I've been playing with the 12wt cotton threads I bought at the Sewing For Pleasure show. They give a really nice, hand-stitched look. This is stitched on an even weave fabric which I then appliqued onto denim to make the cushion cover.

Yeah! I love working with cotton! and the heavy weight adds more texture! i have to adjust and test, It is nice that you are doing it!

It looks very pretty. What size did you make the cross stitch to accomodate for the thicker thread?

I did the design with 2mm crosses but when I stitched it out with normal embroidery thread it looked dreadful. I enlarged the design by 20% on the machine to stitch it with the cotton. I'll do a proper comparison test tomorrow and post the results.

That sewed very well, I like the look of those threads. It all looks really nice on the pillow.
