To all prayer warriors on here, this is a request from me for a positive outcome on today's election of a Bishop. As many of you know I am a Synod representative for the Anglican Church of Australia here in Newcastle. Today we are voting for 5 nominees for the Bishop of Newcastle. There is 1 woman and 4 men who have been put forward. I will be away all day today and tomorrow along with the whole diocese (about 300 representatives, clergy and laity).
Would you please pray this prayer with me for guidance and that the Holy Spirit will lead us to the right person.
"Eternal God, shepherd and guide, in your mercy give your Church in this Diocese a shepherd after your own heart who will walk in your ways, and with loving care watch over your people. Give us a leader of vision and a teacher of your truth. So may your Church be built up and your name be glorified: through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN." This is from our Anglican prayer book of Australia.

Thanks so much for the prayers for yesterday and today. I've just come home and wanted to let you know that we DIDN'T elect a Bishop. It was a very close call and so now we will have to go back in 3 month's time and do it all over again. There may be more candidates at that time too. We will just have to pray for and wait on God's time to choose the right person. Love and blessings Chris
