Today is my 21st anniversary. I married my best friend that day. He was the first boy to ever tell me he loved me at the age of 13 when doctors thought I would die due to a severe staph infection that invaded my entire body. He said that he loved me too much and that HE wasn't going to let me die. He brought me flowers from his grandmother's garden that he picked along with an overpriced carnation from the hospital gift shop. It took me some years to give that boy a chance but I am so glad I did.
