I made this throw size quilt and donated it to our local Kinney Drug Store. They are having a fundraiser for the Childrens' Miracle Network. I hope it brings in money for the kids.

Lovely quilt and what a great gift to help our children in need. It'll auction off without a doubt and help them. Wonderful to share your many gifts! --Sandra

I love the design and colours. You did a great job. What pattern is this?

I started with a block pattern from quilters cache. It is called Double Aster. I cut all the pieces out for the quilt first. I found I was short on fabric for onr of the colors so I substituted the red fabric. I had no idea what it was going to look like until it was pieced together. It didn't come out exactly like the original pattern for the block but I am pleased with the way it turned out. Rather than start using a quilt pattern, I often pick a block pattern and go from there. It makes for some interesting outcomes.

I'd buy it in a heart beat! Your piecing skills are fabulous! I'd lose track of all those pieces. I've never seen this pattern before, but it is very interesting!
