My latest project, a table topper with tulips for spring. This was my first try at foundation piecing. I made my own pattern and kind of improvised as I went along but I love how it turned out. It is hard to see but the embroidery is a quilt block that is a circle of tulips done in black.

It is fabulous! You should be so proud, making your own pattern and all! Love the tulip circles.

I looks great!
If you click on the picture, it opens in a new window or tab and then you can see the stitching a lot better.

Lovely...did you do the foundation piecing in-the-hoop or just regular foundation piecing?

I did regular foundation piecing. I drew my pattern on some cloth- like paper towels that came on a roll like regular paper towels do. Then that remained as part of the project.
