I found some photos of handmade tatted spool pin doilies about 1 1/2 inch wide. Has anyone ever seen machine embroidery patterns for these? My machines don't NEED them but they are cute...

How cute! We have seen some beautiful tatted lace created by the father of one of our Cute members, I hope she comes by and can pull up the link.

I found some in my collection, but they are removed. The link no longer works.

I love Murphy's design for machine embroidery tatting. I have the tatted butterflies and will be buying the new set that just came out. There are hummingbirds, doilies, jewelery , and they stitch out great

I tried to join Murphys yahoo blog, but was refused. I was most disappointed as my mother did hand tatting I am interested in machine tatting. I would really love to download the free butterfly, but it is not to be.

Wow, never knew anyone really got refused to a yahoo group...do they let you know why? Some say if you are only joining for freebies or you join, download and unsubscribe they block you but I don't know why someone would leave when they could continue to get freebies....

From The Needle Of Anne has some lovely tatted flowers (link 1 - also has a sample for you to try).
If you can crochet, you could try these (link 2 - not really what you asked for but it looks easy :) )
If it's machine embroidered designs you're looking for I think you'd have better luck looking for small FSL doilies.
There are also some sites which offer free FSL designs but I can't remember them right now. Perhaps someone else will chime in :) xXx

(why do so many "breaks" get added when you edit a post? lol I keep editing to remove them.)

I went through some of the sets at Anne's and picked up some samples. They had a sample for round earrings that look similar to the spool pin doilies. Thank you :-)

Your designs appear to be needle tatted; I have that pattern and the results are identical even to the size. As for the machine tatting, I also, know that Murphy has excellent designs. Needle Tatting, by the way, is simple and the directions are available at most craft/needlework stores; I taught myself from the book by Foster.

Oh I agree they are very cute. What a sweet way to just dress up your machine. Thanks for sharing, susan
