Principle of the middle school is asking me to make something for him to pass out to the teachers, at the end of the yr ceremonies. I was thinking the framed subway art, but if he doesn't like that I would like other ideas. Anyone think of something good I can pitch to him too. All ideas welcome LOL

Thanks

I make FSL guardian angels for my family and other needy people. Used variegated thread on last ones and liked them. Next will try metallic thread. Everyone can use a guardian angel.

That is a great idea. It could be a bookmark, tree ornament, window pull etc.

I had done the angels at christmas but good idea, did the Sonia Walter ones they came out beautiful even turned some into book marks

Bookmarkers are a great idea; keep the theme associated with school or learning. I don't believe angels are a good idea as gifts for public school teachers as some may not be of the Christian faith (even though they are outstanding citizens in their own rights).

Money? lol
Teachers that teach for the love of teaching -- are never paid enough for the work they do.
I hope you get great ideas!

Bookmarks would be good! They could also be used for key chains. However, I don't think the males would like the FSL.

no I agree the men would not care for them thinking Key fobs as another item can put year on them too and everyone uses them :)

What comes to mind most for me is bookmarks. They stitch out fast, and are infinitely useful, and right down the teacher's alley. You can change the colors according to each teacher's personality. There are some wonderful FSL bookmarks or corner bookmarks out there. Then it can be a gender neutral gift as well. Good luck with a gift.
Another idea would be mini wall hangings, like perhaps the school emblem and year. Make it like a potholder size mini quilt and bind it and add a hanger. Is that clear as mud? :)

Bookmarks seem to be the favourite option here, but remember they will need to be neautral as you will not know which teacher will get which one.. I'm sure the Principal will not want to stand there to handout specific designs to specific teachers.. may be they could be made in the school colours and have the year on them.. well that's my 2c worth hope you get the right idea's it's hard when they don't tell you exactly what they want!.. hugs Marian

yes it is hard when I have to pitch the idea to them and of course keep cost down. but don't think names would be to hard since it is a small school thank you

I am a substitute teacher. I hate to throw cold water on the bookmark idea (because I love them!), but most of the teachers I am with are using Kindles or Nooks for reading. I like the notepad idea!

I do like the notepad idea too. they could even use it for projects if they wanted

How many are you talking about, how much time do you have and what about a budget? I just finished making pet screen tote bags for my GKs teachers. Turned out beautiful and really don't take very long to do. Good luck and hugs. Nan
