Notebook cover

Inspired by Sue I bought these buttons and used the first 5 of 150. Digitized and sewed the stem and leaves, added the buttons and a number of lines using stitches from my sewing machine. I'm quite pleased with the result.

Lovely floral cover!! You and Sue are going to start a trend with these button designs. There are so many possibilities using these buttons, and for all sorts of different projects. Can't wait to see the new items you ladies create next.

I have yet to try and see if they can be laundered, I doubt it, which restricts the type of project, but you are right, those buttons are great fun.

Sue Dewsbury digitised a few which can be found here: http://www.mygardened.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2606

This takes you to the home page, type 3754 in the search box, that should bring up the design.

I love how the flowers spread out from their stem. The buttons make this really exceptional.

I digitised free hand and made a nice and small cluster, then went to real sizeat real size and placed the buttons on the laptop and had to enlarge the top considerably. I could of course have measured the button first, then started with circles of the right size for placement. I think I might do it that way next time. These buttons are so much fun.

I loved to use my sewing machine for the decoration - I miss the hands-on experience when my machine does the embroidery.
