I managed to finish this cross stitch picture while I was away on holiday. It used thread in different thicknesses - the manes were one strand, most of the rest was two, but the black areas were three strands. It measures about 16x8 (inches) The kit was amazingly cheap on Ebay and is from Russia.

I do not like cross stitch but one must recognize that these are superb zebras. You have done well to buy.

Awesome ,, love Cross Stitch.. Know you are very happy with this picture. Congratulation on a great job well done.
Just wonder if you had to keep it rolled to keep your eyes from crossing at times. giggle.

Sue it's beautiful. I don't do too much cross-stitch, but love hardanger and other needlework. I have never heard of doing cross-stitch with a 3D effect using the extra thread - a great idea.

Awesome, but aren't you glad you aren't trying to digitize that!?

Digitizing it would be so much faster than embroidering it by hand.
It certainly would!

Stunningly beautiful. I love the effect of the one strand parts, the manes are so light and fluffy this way. An amazing piece of work!
