I never really knew that my sewing & machine embroidery skills (such as they are) could have such a profound impact on the lives of others. Today I delivered a mastectomy pillow to my cousin. She has had a lumpectomy & will have a full mastectomy in the late fall. She was so overcome with emotion & gratitude that we both were in tears happy tears. All because I made her a pillow. To her it was so much more then a silly pillow it was comfort for her & as I was leaving she laid down on the sofa & placed the pillow under her arm & sighed with pleasure & was instantly asleep! She hadn't been comfortable to sleep in over a week. All because I made her a pillow. I guess my point is this: we have talent so no matter how many flaws we see in our own work(my bib) most people see the beauty & are thank-full. I never really knew how much my making things meant to other people. I mean sure they are useful & to me pretty & most of the time one of a kind lol but to others they are so much more then I ever thought SO I too am very thankful that I can sew! Just wanted to share this with my sewing family! Hugs Loralye

What a wonderful gift! It is always a wonderful feeling when a gift is treasured and useful too. Even if you only inspire other's to create -- you have touched another's life in a very good way. May the Lord bless you and your cousin.

You have a right to feel good and to be proud because their are a lot of people that only care about themselves and won't help anyone. I think people that do for others are Gods angles here on earth.

And that is why I love to embroider. I am fortunate and do not need to sell items to pay for my machines and supplies. My payment is the smiles that appear when the item I made reaches its owner. I am so glad you made that very special pillow for your cousin. A big hug to you.

Do you have a pattern for a special type of pillow? Please post a pic so we can see your handiwork. We get the most back when we do for others. You are special. Hugs. Nan W

Hi Loralye, it's so nice for you to do this for your cousin. Those pillows are fabulous. My best friend Margaret had one and she used it daily. God bless you for caring so much and I agree with you - to give from our heart is better than receiving. Love and blessings Chris

sometimes and little (or big) thing on our behalf is a HUGE something for others, nice that you could comfort her in this way.

I always say giving (not matter what it is) is always so gratifying,

It's wonderful when you give or receive a gift that comes from the heart. I have some treasures from friends that I would never part with . They aren't valuable money wise but hold great memories. When we give we get so much more back than we realize. That is why I do it.

Ministry comes in many forms/occupations. Many times children give me a drawing that had a message of LOVE! I pray your cousin a MIRACLE from the Lord! *2U
