My brother 780 is messing up AGAIN----I'm beginning to think it is MY ATTEMPT at digitizing (somewhat attempting)-----but it still does its old tricks even with "BUILT IN" designs----have done EVERYTHING---stabilizers, changed fabrics, using Floriani thread (the best as far as I am concerned), varied bobbin EMBROIDERY MACHINE threads, used Genie bobbin slider INSERT thingees, changed upper tension, threaded and rethreaded, taken bobbin case out and cleaned and reinserted, changed needles (Schmetz size 11 from WallyWorld and Joanns----Is threre a difference---same brand--same size--both EMBROIDERY NEEDLES), You name it, I have tried it...2 DIFFERENT repair persons----3 "CORRECT" bobbin cases, 3 different needle-throat plates--present needle plate was smoothed out by repairperson (the latest with 30 some years experience fixing UNFIXABLE machines of all kinds)---so guess I will take it back to see if machine becomes landfill or if there REALLY IS SOMETHING WRONG with the machine or if it is the operator!!!!!
Happy weekend y'all
Have you tried contacting Brother USA (link below) for their help. I don't know if your two service engineers are official Brother Service Agents but if they are, I might be tempted to inform Brother of your experiences with them and the costs incurred WITHOUT ANY RESOLUTION. Of course, this action really depends upon your continuing relationship with these service engineers. But as you say, you can't go on like this and need to make your feelings felt a little more strongly. I hope things are resolved for you soon but please keep us informed.
The Brother certified factory-trained repairperson messed it up more than before--could not figure out which bobbin case to use----or which needle throat plate was the right one. It's a nightmare---I'm glad I have two other Brother 4x4 emb machines I can use--
I will attempt to contact Brother----
And I will take it back to the 35-year repairman and AGAIN show him my samples.
Thank you so much and God bless you....
As I mentioned in my other replies I am at my wit's end.
Thank you for your time and God bless you....
It turned out that it was the thread I was using. I cannot use Gutterman at all and can only use polyester thread. I also only use prewound bobbins and change the needle VERY often. Since I've been doing that...it has given me no problem.
If I stick to that ... it does a good job.
Good luck... I know it is frustrating!
