I have done EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the pe780D---Genie bobbin inserts, changed needles, threads, bobbins, put the thread in a coffee cup to thread it evenly, spool socks, topstitch needles, unwaxed dental floss cleaning, dependable designs, changing upper tension,Schmetz EMBROIDERY needles sizes 11 and 14 from Wally World AND Hancock AND JoAnn, changed stabilizers--
stitched out a simple redwork thistle design on my 10 year-old PE150 and it was beautiful with the simple running stitches---
put on 780D---did NOT want to pick up running stitches, wanted to loose-stitch on top-etc--
She goes back to shop for 4th time for same issue------
SEWWWWWWWWW-----out comes DEPENDABLE LOW TECH PE 150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is there cotton caught in your bobbin case,go around the springy part with a pin, got a 780 as well, first one died after 2 years, could have been fixed but too expensive, got a new one....wendy

I will check for that--Fixing is SOOO expensive---like you say it is almost cheaper to get a new machine---I have spent about $300 getting the 780 "FIXED"---I know I cannot $$$ just for Disney designs---Thank you for your help. God bless you.

I am so sorry you are going through this. The only questions I have are these. Is your tech certified in repairing your machine. I once had an issue because the tech I brought my machine to was not certified in my brand and in multi-needle machines. Perhaps you might need to bring your machine to another tech if this is the case. New eyes on an old problem can sometimes help.

The first TWO were BROTHER certified and factory trained---neither one fixed the problem----the third has been around in our area and I have had him and known him for over 30 years---if it can be fixed he can do it---if not he tells you so---I also have 2 others that I can take it to----they are both about 1 1/2 hours away---but both are highly qualified and recommended by others in my area.

Although this may not help, it is worth a thought. Decades ago my Singer would break threads after stitching for 30 minutes. The local dealer could not find the problem and sent it to Atlanta and it was returned "fixed" but it wasn't. No one would stitch 30 minutes to see what the complaint was about. My husband and the Singer dealer thought I was nuts. Anyway we finally decided to get a Bernina and the dealer was also a repairman. He took the Singer and found a burr on the underside of the throat plate where lint would build up and cause thread breakage.. Problem fixed so then I had a new Bernina and a good Singer for backup.

How old is the machine? Perhaps it needs to go back to the factory...does it sew okay when you test it out at the dealer and then how long will it sew before it messes up again? I know, so many questions...have you tried a new bobbin case?

Three DIFFERENT bobbin cases----of course according to repairpeople---each one is the CORRECT ONE!!!!
It was purchased in January of 2010---I go in Friday with the machine to the repairperson and he and she are going to work with watching me thread it---I will NOT go back to where I purchased it-----their "REPAIR" person is HORRIBLE!!!!

I am thinking factory defect too. Machines don't normally do this. except when they are too old? Best of luck @ the shop. So sorry that you have to deal with this headache too. Hugs Loralye

I think it all started when I got a needle embedded and dug it out myself---next time it will go straight to shop----
but still someone should be able to FIX it.

I was really hoping the bobbin genies would work. I had the same problem and wish I could find the receipt from service. I told them I thought the timing was off, however it said something different on the receipt. Then it was close to being fixed except the thread would break every 300 stitches. Totally not acceptable. Got it back today and have only done fill. There were a couple spots. The true story will be told when I do FSL.

I save ALL receipts and keep them in the desk where the machine is----I haave not done any fill or FSL since the "WORK"!!!Almost afraid to do any!!!
