Some of you may recall that my grandson wanted to make a Minecraft quilt. I gave him graft paper and pencil and told him to draw/design that he wanted. From there I took him to the fabric store and he chose his fabrics. We washed pressed and cut the squares out together. Then he started to learn how to sew the squares together. He loved it as he could see it all coming together.
He got busy with his tennis lessons, kayaking and other summer activities, so I'm finishing it for him. He has his 10th birthday on Aug 7th. He doesn't know that I'm finishing the quilt for him. All I need to do on the quilt is to put the binding on. I decided to also make a smaller version of the quilt and turn it into a pillow for him. He's getting a new full size bedroom set for his birthday, so this quilt will be on his bed when they bring him in to see his new bedroom. I'm excited for him to see it all put together.
