Hi Cuties, I wanted to share something with you that concerns my 9 year old grandson. As most of you know,he and Avery, just got a baby sister. As most of you also know,Avery is a special needs child,7 years old.Well, we don't think about kids worrying while their mom is expecting. After the birth of the new baby, he asked his mom if Nora was like him or like Avery. When his mom told him, she should be like him, you could just see the relief wash over his face. Poor little boy, kept this in, all this time.(photos of him and baby in Personals)

Toogie, that just breaks this grandmother's heart. I pray that Avery isn't thinking the same. Hug that child for me. ;)

Avery is so happy. She just loves the baby. She can't speak but she laughs when the baby cries, she gets quiet when we put the baby close to her,she smells, senses her near.I'll give her that hug,but I don't need an excuse to do that.

Avery must be special in many more ways than one and that sweet boy is amazing to think of that question. Aren't they all just the be all end all?

At nine years old they can be very astute as to what is going on around them. He knew enough to wait till she was born to ask. That was very sweet to know he had concerns also.

He surprises me at times. He was only 23 months old when Avery and Isabella were born.He had to be left so much, with the girls in the hospital. Then Avery comes home and requires a lot of attention. I think he felt resentment toward her for a long time. He is just recently showing how much he does care about her.I guess our little fellow is growing up.

The poor little guy! Maybe he overheard his parents concern about the new baby and took it on himself to worry. That's a burdon too big for grownups to bear let alone a sweet young man. Give him some extra hugs & Kisses and tell him what a wonderful big brother he is to worry about his new sister. Tell him to let God worry about the big things so he can relax and not have to worry so much. Sure makes me want to hug the dickens out of him till all his troubles go away. What a wonderful caring grandson you have! He's definately special in my book!

I think his words to his mom were, "is Nora a special child like Avery, or like him?"His mom knew what he meant, but she told him all children are special, but if he meant, would Nora be able to walk, talk, run, play, learn like him, then yes, she should be like him.Thank you for your comments, and yes,I agree he is special too.

Beautiful and thoughtful little boy and I'm sure he loves both his sisters. Shows a lot of concern but sounds like he could be a worrier who will need a little extra attention as he gets more mature. I had one of each and they still are that way.

Children feel more than we think they do. For some reason my middle child was anxious when I was pregnant with our 4th child. She asked if the baby was going to be alright. I assured her the baby was fine. Then I miscarried the baby about 2 weeks later. Don't know why she asked. She was only 6 years old. Your grandson looks like he will be a wonderful big brother. he must be a great brother to both of them. It's so beautiful he feels a kind of protection need for both. They understand more than we sometimes realize. Thank you for sharing the picture too. A great little guy, a wonderful big brother , who's always willing to protect his sisters and stands up for them when it's neccesary. God bless them all :)

What a precious big brother. And his mom was so wise in her answer to him. Hugs to all of them...including mom! And you get to give them for me!
