I've never heard of of it, but that doesn't mean it could not exist...Chances are there is another reason for the crash, mine has been behaving badly as well and then it seems to magically straighten itself out, so am holding my breath,,,lol...Let us know what info comes back from the scan, mine says there is no threat, mysteries of cyberspace I guess.

Anything is possible. If you have installed any new software recently I'd check there.

Thanks I did find 2 things that I thought were new. 1 was called gota save or something to that effect. I do not like pop ups interupting my browsing!

I had something similar last week. It disabled all of my software and everything else. It wanted me to buy something. I had to put my computer in safe mode and restore it to the last restore point. That fixed it. I do get a lot of those adobe updates. Not sure where it came from bu think it was one mentioned in another post.

I am using Windows 8. I had something similar happen with a Java popup. I cannot get my computer to work right no matter what I tried. I am still trying to learn Windows 8 . I don't know how to get to safe mode. I don't see it in the book I bought. That sounded like a good solution. I get a message that Internet explorer does not work. I don't know what to try next. Several times when I tried to open Anna Bove's font mania page a notice came up instead that said I needed to update my adobe flash player. I ignored it as I had just updated. The site may have been temporarily hijacked by a hacker, because it was fine the next time, but has happened again from time to time. If you get a pop up like that in the future, it is best to go directly to the adobe site and not click on the link provided. Sorry that I can't help with the current problem. Good luck with getting things back to normal.
