Attention Cuties....I just came off a site that has the most elegant/beautiful embroidered antique linens I have ever seen. They have them for sale at enormous prices. It is like window shopping in the "Royals" closet.
When the site comes up, click on the items listed below the picture to take you to specific items.
I have posted the link. Enjoy looking........

Sometimes my computer won't let me access a site by clicking on an addy.....but usually I can get it by clearing out everything and typing the address in manually or you may go to Google and get it that way. The items on the site are gorgeous and worth the effort to see.

Yes, beautiful embroidered items.

There's a beautiful linen tablecloth with wheat ear bouquets woven in and PR in a wheat ear design embroidered on top - just the thing for my current cornflower and wheat addiction. And PR are the right initials. At €1675 it is a bit outside my budget :)
However, I like the idea of making an alphabet like that.

Hello all,
It's Robin from Fleur d'Andeol (www.fleurdandeol.com) and I just wanted to say thank you for your visits and your appreciations! I discovered French antique linens about ten years ago and have since devoted a good part of my life to learning about and collecting them as well as to making them available to others. It's rare to discover a lost art like this one, especially one so unique and sophisticated, and I feel fortunate to spend my days handling such rare treasures! By the way, the comment by bobbies41 that it's like window shopping in the "Royals" closet is not far from the reality.... If you think my prices are steep, just know that they're a pittance compared to the prices of fine lace and embroidery of the era. These are masterpieces, many of which required six months to two years of labor to complete. We have no way to evaluate them by today's standards! I do however appreciate that there are women like you all who keep the art of hand crafts alive, so thank you for your visits and for your handiwork.
Kind regards,
Robin

I forgot to add... Victoria Magazine recently published a special edition called Victoria Classics Monograms, entirely devoted to the art of monogramming. They were very generous in offering me 18 pages in which to write a few articles and show off my collection. If you love embroidery, don't miss this issue! You can special order it from their website: www.hoffmanmediastore.com I don't think you'll be disappointed!
