A lovely quilt featuring a Rainbow Lorikeet by Helen Godden to zoom into for a close up view.Check out the different patterns in the background stitching. These birds are know as green monsters at our place because of their bullying of other birds ,noise making & destructiveness if they become bored.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING QUILT. Look at all the detail in the feathers and the background. Some women/men are amazing at doing this style of quilting. Love Chris

Amazingly beautiful! I wonder whether it was handpainted, the quilting is excellent. I always wonder how many hours this sort of work must have taken.

Helen says,
"The Rainbow Lorikeet soars swiftly and with grace through the tree tops like a colorful dart. The bright primary colors of this Australian parrot are captured in detail, painted on the stunning white silk sateen, and surround by a burst of rainbow graded stitching celebrating his beautiful colors."
Helen's quilt won Honorable Mention, Art-Painted Surface, Houston 2012.
