Today is the first day of spring officially here, but somewhere along the way winter forgot to turn up except for a few odd days here & there ,& now it feels like summer. The other night it was so hot you would have thought it was mid summer not winter. There was a bush fire somewhere & the smoke floated in through the open windows.

So far this year we have had the hottest day on record & the warmest winter ever. The heaters never got out of the cupboard & the electricity we used wasn't much more than the previous 9mths ( clothes dryer was the culprit). The garden doesn't know if its Arthur or Marhta.
Husband said he heard on the news that the Funeral Directors are complaining that their business has fallen because of the unseasonal weather.
Now we are wondering what the rest year will bring.

Funny weather - we also celebrate spring "day" today but it is really cold in Johannesburg today. We are all dressed in warm jackets and scarfs.

Well....wherever you are on our great land I'm not surprised that you haven't enjoyed a 'real' winter.
All that lousy weather just rolled down to Mount Gambier and sat there for months like a miserable wet, cold, windy troll and laughed at my discomfort as I huddled beneath a quilt with a hot water bottle on my knees.
Today, to celebrate the coming of Spring with a glorious sunshiny day, I am wearing a pretty floral dress. I'll enjoy the feeling of fresh air on my legs until next Friday when we will be back to 14C again.

It has been crazy weather here in the USA too. The leaves are already starting to turn and I am thinking we will have a cold winter this year.

Oh yes Spring and lovely flowers, well they would be if my friendly little friends (3 young deer) would not come into my property and eat my roses, pansy's, snow peas, silver beet, the occasional strawberry. Well yesterday DH put up a tin fence upon the barb wire fence to try to stop them, I know they can jump well but I am hoping they will just wander on by to the next neighbour....oh boy if only I had not patted him and loved him so.....he now comes with two little girl friends, but I do love my gardens more so I had to choose.....they got confused, one day I pat him next day I chased him...poor love....oh well, I do need to eat my organic veges my self....Enjoy our Spring as I will....
