I just upgraded to embird 13 on my windows 7 64 bit and so far it is working fine. The explorer is also much much better. I did not have any problems installing either.

I don't want any other OS ...I love XP?..it works for me and all my softwares. That being said, I plan to keep using it on a couple of older laptops-- offline. Microsoft says there will be no more support for XP after next April. Looks like we won't have a choice. So, it appears I will have to use another for the Internet ....but have read so much about people HATING Win8, that I will try to find 7--- somewhere!

I don't have Embird, so I can't tell you about it with Windows 7. I have had to update to Windows 7 over a year ago now and had no problem with it at all. It has been easy to use and works well, no glitches, with the software I use.

I have Windows 8 and Embird Basic...and it is working just fine...I am having trouble with the new Embird Basic on my XP computer...It has been interfering with my other digitizing programs and also my Word program...I was in contact with the folks at Embird for several weeks...they finally told me to go back to 8.8D until they could get the problems worked out...that was a few months ago...but I am hesitant to reinstall the new build on my XP computer...but no problems with the Windows 8...hope this helps....

Embird and Windows 7 working fine on my computer...

I have Windows 7 and no issues using Embird Basic - however I have NOT upgraded my Embird to the current issue yet (I have the one before the current version).

I have windows 8 & I hate it.Most of my software for printer ,camera etc doesn't work with it because they are old & finding new drivers takes time & when you do find them ,instructions for installion are often not there.
My computer had to be reset to the factory settings & now I can't get my 4D extra software to work although I did have it working before but it took several attempts to install it successfully then.Now I am just waiting to find time to visit a friend who has it working so I can find out what I am doing wrong.

I had Embird Basic 2010 with Iconizer and upgraded to Embird 2013 Basic with Iconizer free of charge. As my Windows 7 is 64-bit, I have selected Embird made for Windows 7 64-bit and have no problems.

Many thanks ladies for your comments, I guess I should have said that I have Embird 2013 with plug ins, Sfumato Stitch + Digitizing Tools + Font Engine. Does this apply to any one?? Are you happy with using Embird and Windows 7 or 8? AGAIN thanks for any help!!!

I WAITED UNTIL EMBIRD HAD UPDATED TO WINDOWS 7 AND FOUND IT VERY EASY TO INSTALL YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER WHICH BIT YOU ARE WINDOWS 7 IS 64BIT AND I HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE LOADING IT ONTO MY TABLET THEN FOUND OUT IT IS ONLY 32BIT. OTHER THAN TAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE WITH IT.

Have an older version of Embird with attachment programs but upgraded my computer to a new one with Windows 8 on it. No problems at all with it all the Embird parts work fine.

Embird Basic on Win 7 64 bit working great. Love it!!
