I reckon that all those crazy Parties did was make that piece of paper way toooo long!

My Son did a postal vote and he showed me all those parties and he assures me that "sex party" and other crazy parties have always been around. They must be all freaks and nutters if you ask me. Any wonder our world is out of hand with the real life.. Most of them are idiots.

Isn't it amazing how many fly by night twits think they can lead the country, when the 2 main partys can't agree on who does it better or what should be done...

Voted yesterday, and yes I did notice all those different parties! Have never heard of them. Who are the candidates for these parties, haven't seen or heard any of them campaigning? I told the lady at the polling booth that we could turn the ballot paper over to the wrong side, and use it as a table runner it is so long!

It's been 30C here today too in Newcastle. I live in Jewells part of the Lake Macquarie council and we voted about 11.45am. The Senate paper was 1metre long and yes the most stupid names for some of those political parties. On the House of Representatives paper there were only 5 names for our area - it really is a 3 horse race though - Labor/Liberal/National fight with the other 2 top parties which preference votes will go to their preferred party. yes I had my vote as well , hubby and I had a nice walk to our local school,met up with a few friends on the way , it was pleasantly warm, then spent the rest of the day doing some embroidery, yes I did notice some strange parties ,

Yes I also noticed the strange parties on the Senate paper that was long enough for a table runner. DH told the gentleman where we put the voted on sheets that it was a waste of trees. He had to agree. Shirley

Well, we now have a new government in Australia. Tony Abbott from the Liberal Party has defeated Kevin Rudd the Prime Minister of Australia (from the Australian Labor Party) and will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Australia some time next week. A new era begins!!! Love Chris

I don't know how these fringe parties even get registered. It makes a mockery of our political system.

We did early voting to avoid crowds but the line was doubled from the door to the end of the hall and back again to the register tables. Poor DHDon needed to sit on his walker-frame but the line kept on moving. He managed to vote and then sat on his walker by the door, overseeing the quickly-filling bin of unwanted paper.
I was hoping to keep my ballot paper for shopping lists for the next twelve months but I had to push it through that little slot and then give it a shove with my finger.
So .......... You had all the heat!!!!!
We had two days of wonderful warm Spring sunshine last week and now we're back to the teen-temps again.

In 1983 I took my mother to Scotland to see my brother. We voted on the Saturday and left on the Sunday. When we reached Singapore, the grinning currency clerk told me that Bob Hawke had won the election and had devalued our dollar and I was left with money worth half of what I had thought I had taken to spend on my holiday. Since then I have never planned a holiday anywhere near an election date.
