Granddaughter's pillows. The designs came from Embroidery Boutique. I am still working on other pillows for their beds. Pottery Barn wanted $50. each for customized monogram and I told my daughter that I could do that!!!!

yes, I use cording on most of my pillows, It makes it so much easier to turn. I also used pillow inserts from Joann's. I should have rounded the corners more since the insert did not fill it out. Kay

Kay the pillows are lovely. You do beautiful work. You can slip in some fiber fill into each corner if you like. They are more than ok as they are. Maureen/olds

They liked them and that is what is important. They are to the age that everything needs approval. I hate it and I love it!!! I love that they know what they like. I knew what I wanted when I was their age.

My daughter keeps me going. She is the perfectionist but refuses to learn to sew. I have given her two machines to play with and I still plan to try to show the granddaughters how to use them. I recently discovered that one had cut up an old pair of panties to make a Barbie outfit. With needle and thread she had sewn it together so I think she is ready. Kay

These are beautiful pillows. I'm sure your granddaughters love them and are thrilled to have them.

That price at the Pottery Barn is cheap - I saw pillows at a furniture store with a tag for $360. My DH and I laughed out loud, as he proclaimed "you can do that, and they would be ten times better". Well, to our surprise the sales clerk was right behind us, and said they were so expensive because they were custom made. Hmmmm... all of the items I make are also custom, too!!!!

We are so custom!!!! Sometimes my things are so custom that I can't make two. I have a hard time with window treatments and have to force my self to take measurements on the first one so the rest will be the same.

I was just trying to save my daughter $100. if I make any more this style, I wound round the corners as the pillow insert did not fill the corners,

I really like the colors and the piping around the pillow. Nice job on the monogram. Did you make the pillows as well?

yes , the fabric came from my favorite bargain place at $3, per yd and they have tables of fabric piled up. I did but buy the pillow inserts at Joann's already made. That is why the corners are not filled out. I should have rounded then. Kay
by rachap 26 Sep 2013
I think they look fine . I have been known to stuff a little fiberfill in each corner to fill them out-no one ever looks inside!!
